“Go Dream…”

Tonight I shall keep this one short and sweet… it’s late for me and I am finally back home in my own surroundings.  It’s a rainy evening; I can hear the water trickling through the gutters as I sit in my flannel PJs and brainstorm marketing strategies to catapult Mercodia to the top of the IVD market.

I spoke to an amazing person tonight; someone with whom I have only experienced face to face contact twice in my life yet I feel like I have known him forever.  He is an intelligent, loyal and honest family man and servant to our quest to cure diabetes.  He works diligently to lead his team to the answers we all seek in a world riddled with insulin resistance and diabetes, all the while finding as many magical moments as possible to provide positive reinforcement and an unconditional love to his wife and children.

He understands my brainstorming and desire to succeed, which led us down a leadership discussion path.  He offered his thoughts on the minds of a graduate student: what they find interesting, how to retain their attention, etc, etc.  I listened with a sharp ear, although most of his thoughts were not foreign to me.  However, one simple statement flowed from his lips and seemed to stop me in my tracks.  My thoughts froze; my emotions escalated.

He simply said: “I tell my guys to GO DREAM.

I replied: “You tell them to GO DREAM and you take on all of the other stuff?”

He said: “Yes”

I toyed with this in my mind for several minutes, pondering the freedom of expression, freedom of thought that his students must feel when allowed to follow such an uninhibited path.  I began to equate his situation, his words to my own position as a sales person but also as a leader of my group.  Due to recent events that have provided me additional freedoms to be creative in my marketing and sales strategies, I suddenly felt that I too could relate to this simple statement: “GO DREAM”

In essence, that is what I am doing now.  I am DREAMING about my success as an individual, our success as a company.  I can visualize what it takes to make things happen and set forth plans and a direction for my team to reach our goals.  It is hard to believe that one simple statement, one simple spoken phrase can influence a person to this extent.

The creativity is inside me, waiting to spill out over the pages of my sketch book lying beside me tonight… maybe there’s no sleep derived dreams on the agenda this evening, only DREAMS for the future!

-Goodnight

I love this post! As far as I’m concerned everything worth having, worth working for, begins with a dream. Then it is up to us as to whether or not we take action to turn these dreams in to reality.

I so admire your motivation, to chase your future with passion and vigor. It’s obvious that you will achieve everything you ever wanted, it’s only a matter of time.

    You Go Girl!
